The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle just before 3:00 p.m. at the dead end of Emery Highway Lane. Once on scene deputies noticed the distinct smell of something decomposing. Deputies searched the area and discovered a deceased person. At this time, it has not been determined if the stolen vehicle and the deceased person are connected.
According to Coroner Leon Jones, the body will be sent to the G.B.I. Crime Lab, for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and identity.
